I was born in a Brooklyn New York City neighborhood, and that colorful and bustling community is alive inside my imagination and comes out through my pencil or paintbrush!

Teaching art to elementary students in a city (Hartford , CT) public school feels just right for me now. I’ve always loved school and wanted to be like my kindergarten teacher who integrated art into all our lessons! Now I have the honor of seeing young people look to me as a model for their growth, the way I viewed my teacher!
My art career began in publishing and designing and creating graphics for childrens museums in the Boston and New York area.

Along the way, I dabbled in printmaking; lived and worked in Bolivia, South America; illustrated for non-profits in the New York City area. And most especially wonderful, became the mother of two amazing sons, who are now grown! It is among my heart’s greatest joys to see them and their generation value creativity in music and art, and work in fields that help others!

Most meaningful to me is caring for family and friends, caring for the environment around us (gardening and watching over our pet cats, dogs and turtle), and making music and art. I play the piano and accordion.
My favorite medium is a pencil and paper! Ink and watercolor renderings of homes, acrylic landscapes of Vermont and the Groton,CT scene, whimsical childrens illustrations, and most recently coloring book creations . . . these are the directions my artistry is taking.
I hope you enjoy looking through my work. I hope it inspires you to create your own!
